If you're looking at this keyboard and find yourself in a similar situation to me, I do have some suggestions:

If I could do it over again, 10/10 WOULD NOT BUY. Oh, and I tried plugging it into my Linux laptop-had the same problems.

The PrtSc key has also stopped working in a fashion similar to the sleep key.Īnd millions more that I'm either forgetting right now, or that are too minor to list here.I know that some of you might cry "Buh-buh-but it's on OSX! Of course it's going to have some issues, it's a Windows keyboard!" Tzzzzt! Wrong! Everything that I just described was functioning properly for the first two days that I had the keyboard, and then started to systematically appear over time. They switch randomly between requiring Fn to be pressed and just working of their own accord, but always at the wrong time-if I want to reload a page and I hit F5, it rewinds my movie, but if I want to mute the volume and I press F1, it doesn't do anything until I hold down Fn. I actually liked this feature because I'm often putting my computer to sleep and it saved a few clicks. The "sleep computer" button (in the far top right, next to ScrLk) stopped working for no reason at all. Normally I wouldn't be bothered too much by this, but since I'm using it with OSX, and OSX maps Win to ⌘.yeah. It's lately started to automatically enable "gaming mode" (F10) every time I wake my computer from sleep. Considering I bought this keyboard to help me type faster, that's a bit of a buzzkill. I've not been able to find any pattern to it at all and it's been driving me bonkers, because it usually cuts 5-10WPM off my otherwise fast typing while I have to go back and delete t's. The keyboard has a highly annoying "feature" where it will sometimes create a double "t" (tt) for no reason at all. Fixed, big thanks to /u/BOTY123 for helping me figure out that I can turn it back on with Fn+F12. In fact, I think it may have even burned out.

The Razer logo LED on the front of the keyboard, which is part of what sold me on the aesthetic, turned off after two days and I haven't figured out how to make it come back on. It behaved perfectly for the first day or so, and then started having issues galore. I give it a solid 1/5 here, and I can now say that all the bad things I've heard about Razer QC are 100% validated. The keyboard is laid out well, the keycaps are solid, and it has a good amount of functionality for its price.Īnd now the bad news, Razer's truly abysmal quality control. The switches definitely feel, well, different from MX Blues, but in a good way to me, and I like that. Let's start off with the good news, the review of the product itself. There was a small voice in the back of my head that told me "listen to all those Razer haters on the internet", but I ignored that and pulled the trigger anyway, hoping for the best. The BW Tournament checked off all those boxes and plus, I loved the aesthetic. My three criteria were a) clicky/tactile, b) tenkeyless and c) cheap. So, recently I decided to get rid of my Apple chiclet keyboard, and I started shopping around on Amazon for a good mechanical.
